This weekend's goal ...

Is to quilt this queen size top ...
On this standard sewing machine ...

[note the 7.5" opening].

I've had TONS of advice from quilters on Flickr with tips and tricks to getting this accomplished ... I am full of optimism!  Stay tuned ...

Happy New Year!

All the best

  3. Good luck - I've done a 72" quilt on my Singer, which has a much smaller throat size, so you may do ok with your Pfaff! It'll be interesting to see how it goes!

  4. You can do it! You can do it!! I can't WAIT to see this one done! It's GORGEOUS!! How are you going to quilt it? Straight line or meander??

  5. Well ... the plan was to do meandering ... but I am having another 'cabin sewing moment' in that I left the darning foot in Seattle. So since the goal is to get it done this weekend ... straight lines it is!

  7. You can do it! My machine has a similar sized throat and I have quilted several large quilts. Just remember to take breaks and relax your shoulders :)
