New Grand Daughter Quilt

John has a new grand daughter ... Rowan Jane was born about two weeks ago ... this is for her.

I had John look at some of the inspiration quilts that I have saved on my solids board in Pinterest and he chose this one which is was my inspiration.  I believe that the Denyse Schmidt quilt is a square of patchwork ... rather than a rectangle.

I used a solid piece of Honey Comb by TulaPink for the back.

I wish I could tell you what I used for the binding ... because it's cute ... but there's no printing on the selvedge ... kinda strange ...

I was really, really happy with how this turned out ... it's bright, it's light, it's fun and the back really adds some warmth!

Final dimensions = ~36" x 45".

Happy Birthday Rowan Jane!

  1. I think your use of color and design is always brilliant - with great complimentary quilting, too.

  2. I like the rectangle version!

Is your binding this print by Carolyn Friedlander? http://www.robertkaufman.com/fabrics/botanics/AFR-14259-147/
